Safety Planning for Survivors
Safety Planning is an integral part of providing services to survivors and is often one of the first services that will be provided by an advocate at a domestic violence or sexual violence program. Safety Plans are survivor-led tools to assist in increasing safety, improving well-being, and lowering the risk of experiencing abuse and/ or minimizing its severity. During this training, advocates will learn how to develop effective safety plans with survivors by centering a survivor’s strengths and focusing on their needs and goals from a holistic perspective.
Attendees will receive sample safety plans that can be used in their work. A recording of the training will be available to attendees following the event.
NOTE: This event is open to network programs only.
