Survivor Leadership

The Survivor Leadership Project at the Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence was born in 2023 through a powerful merging of missions and momentum. In January, Survivors Rising, a survivor-led organization based in Omaha, officially merged into the Nebraska Coalition, bringing together expertise in advocacy, empowerment, and systems change.

The momentum continued into 2024, as the Nebraska Coalition worked alongside its 15-person Survivor Leadership Advisory Council to develop a long-term strategic plan for the project. The plan outlines a clear vision and goals for the Survivor Leadership Project, including key programs for embedding survivor inclusion and leadership in Nebraska’s anti-violence movement.

To create a culture of healing that centers lived experience to end power-based violence.
